The Republic of Colombia is a country in northern South America with both Caribbean and Pacific coastlines, bordered by Venezuela and Brazil to the east, Ecuador and Peru to the south, the Pacific Ocean to the west, Panama to the north-west and the Caribbean Sea to the north. It covers 1,141,748 km2, is divided into 32 departments plus the Capital District of Bogotá, and its capital is Bogotá.
Colombia's conformity assessment system for radio products accepts test reports submitted under European (CE) or US (FCC) standards for smooth market entry. The local telecommunications regulator CRC (Comisión de Regulación de Comunicaciones) in Bogotá manages submissions and offers voluntary certification for all telecom equipment, excluding products with voice communication functions such as mobile phones and specific types of satellite communication products. CRC certification applies to all products entering the Colombian market, including those subject to mandatory technical regulations (RTCA) and mandatory conformity assessment procedures (PROCON); certified products receive the CRC mark, indicating compliance with Colombian technical regulations and free circulation on the market.
