RF testing verifies that a wireless product transmits and receives within the limits of the applicable radio regulation, so that it uses the spectrum efficiently and does not interfere with other users. It is the technical basis of radio type approval in every market.
The main measurements are maximum output power, power spectral density, occupied bandwidth, frequency range and stability, duty cycle, transmitter spurious emission, receiver spurious emission, receiver blocking and sensitivity, and adaptive frequency use for wideband systems.
Typical rules are ETSI EN 300 328 and EN 301 893 for wideband and 5 GHz systems, EN 300 220 for short range devices, EN 301 489 for EMC of radio equipment, FCC Part 15 C and E, and RSS-247 for Canada. NTEK's RF laboratory covers Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G, LoRa, Zigbee, NFC and RFID products.
