The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) has issued Memorandum Circular No. 004-06-2026, dated 29 June 2026, amending Section 2 of Memorandum Circular No. 03-05-2007.
Scope of the circular
The circular updates the operating parameters for short-range devices (SRD) used in movement detection and alert applications, as follows:
2400–2483.5 MHz: maximum EIRP of 25 mW
9200–9500 MHz: maximum EIRP of 25 mW
9500–9975 MHz: maximum EIRP of 25 mW
13.4–14.0 GHz: maximum EIRP of 25 mW
24.05–24.25 GHz: maximum EIRP of 100 mW
77–81 GHz: maximum EIRP of 50 mW
No function or operating mode of a device may exceed the technical limits set out above.
The change is particularly significant for movement detection and alert devices operating in the 77–81 GHz band, which are now explicitly covered by the updated parameters and subject to a maximum EIRP of 50 mW.
All existing circulars, memoranda, orders or provisions inconsistent with this circular are deemed amended or repealed accordingly.
The circular takes effect fifteen (15) days after publication in a newspaper of general circulation and filing with the National Administrative Registry (ONAR).
Companies are advised to review their products and technical documentation to ensure compliance with the revised frequency and power requirements.
